supporting coconut growers by offering premium virgin coconut oil

We are excited to announce that we now offer Fair Trade Virgin Coconut Oil. Our 15oz and 23oz glass jars will soon bear the Fair Trade USA label. The Fair Trade partnership is an extension of Nutiva’s ongoing commitment to coconut growers in the Philippines. We pledged to plant 100,000 coconut seedlings to improve farmer incomes by 2015. 35,000 of those trees have been planted so far.

Nutiva Founder and CEO, John Roulac says, “Fair Trade is truly a validation of Nutiva’s values and mission. Through our 1% donation program we have already provided $2 million to support sustainable agriculture. This Fair Trade partnership will enable us to make an even greater impact for our coconut farmers.”

In addition to this Fair Trade partnership, we recently pledged $25,000 to support farmers in the Philippines after the devastating Typhoon Haiyan, which struck the island last year.
