Are all of your products certified gluten-free?

All of our Organic Soy Sauce Substitute products are Certified Gluten-Free! Our other products are all naturally gluten-free but do not have the certification.

Are all Nutiva products Certified Organic?

Yes! All of our products are Certified Canada Organic.

Are chemicals like hexane used during your refining process?

Absolutely not! Any of our refined items are steam-refined using an organic process that does not involve the use of any chemicals (like hexane).

Are Nutiva items vegan?

Yes! All of our products are plant-based and do not contain any animal products.

Do Nutiva products contain GMO's?

No! Nutiva products are all Certified Canada Organic, which means they do not contain GMO's. We are certified by QAI.

Does Nutiva have any products that are Certified Glyphosate Free?

Yes, our Organic Liquid Coconut Oil, Organic MCT Oil, and Organic MCT C8 Oil are all Certified Glyphosate Free!

What are the brown specks in my coconut manna?

Any brown specks are natural to coconut and completely normal. They do not affect the quality or flavour of the product.

What is the difference between Virgin Coconut Oil and Refined Coconut Oil?

Virgin Coconut Oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconuts and retains its natural coconut flavour and aroma, while Refined Coconut Oil is steam-refined for a neutral taste. Our Virgin Coconut Oil is unrefined, so you get that authentic tropical flavour and all the natural nutrients. Refined Coconut Oil has a higher smoke point, making it better suited for high-heat cooking.

What standards does Nutiva have in place to ensure their ingredients are the highest quality?

We hold our partners to the highest standards, sourcing ingredients from the people and places best suited for quality—from Hemp Seeds in Canada to Coconuts in Southeast Asia. All Nutiva products are Certified USDA Organic + Certified Canada Organic, ensuring they are produced without synthetic fertilizers, prohibited pesticides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs), while upholding strict standards for ecological balance. Additionally, all facilities in the Nutiva supply chain are GFSI certified, providing confidence in food safety and compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulated by the FDA.

How should I store my Nutiva products?

Stored at room temperature, in a cool, dark place: All Organic Coconut Oils (yes - even Buttery), all MCT products, and Coconut Manna.

Refrigerate after opening: All Soy Sauce Substitute products.

What is your satisfaction guarantee?

45-DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

At Nutiva LLC, we proudly stand behind our products and our quality controls. If you are not completely satisfied with one of our products you purchased from one of our authorized sellers, please contact Nutiva Customer Service within 45 days of the date of purchase to request a replacement product. This Guarantee is a limited to customers in the United States. 

Guarantee option: product replacement - no cash refunds.

A cash refund may be available if the product is returned to the original retailer where it was purchased. However, every retailer has their own returns policy.

Please note that because we are unable to control the quality of our products sold by unauthorized sellers, unless otherwise prohibited by law, the Guarantee is not available for products purchased from unauthorized sellers. This Guarantee is also limited to the original, end user purchaser.

How to Claim the Guarantee:
If you are asking for service on a specific product, please keep it as we will need information off of the label to help you. To submit a Guarantee request for a replacement product, please email us using our Contact Form and provide us with the following information:

  • Which product this is and its size
  • A picture of the Best Before date and Lot code on the package
  • A picture or a detailed description of the issue with the product
  • The product UPC or Barcode number
  • Where and when you purchased your product
  • A copy of your receipt
  • Your full name
  • Your mailing address
  • Your phone number

In some cases, such as when a product may have caused a customer to experience an adverse reaction, you may be required to return the product to us for inspection.

We reserve the right to deny any claim made on this Guarantee if we believe it is not made in good faith. Proof of purchase is required. This Guarantee is subject to change without notice.
